JEDDAH: Bab Rizq Jameel (BRJ), an initiative of Abdul Latif Jameel Community Services Programs (ALJCSP), created 3,333 job opportunities last month through diverse programs at its various branches.

During the month, 227 opportunities were created through training that ended with employment. Training courses have been conducted in accounting and refrigeration and other courses — such as reception skills — specifically designed to fulfill the needs of companies.

Courses conducted for women included makeup, first aid and tailoring. In addition, 690 jobs have been created through a direct employment program in coordination with the support of the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF).

Ibrahim M. Yousuf Rufaie, one of the beneficiaries, said he received training as a receptionist after which he was employed at Al-Andalus Hotel Management Company in Madinah on a monthly salary of SR2,500.

The most important jobs created under the program were of security guards, sales supervisors and cashiers. The majority of employment requests were received from Al-Liwa Al-Zahabi Security Company, Al-Hukair, Nice Lady and Al-Modon Security Services.

Also in April, 394 small projects were financed, including 205 for women. The average amount of loans was SR40,000 with a five-year payback period.
