Indian prez receives Saudi Arabia’s ambassador

NEW DELHI: Indian President Pratibha Patil on Wednesday received Saudi Ambassador to India Faisal bin Hassan Ahmad Trad, who submitted his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to India.

During the meeting, the Indian president appreciated the efforts of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and the Kingdom in countering terrorism and promoting interfaith dialogue, saying that her country attaches special emphasis in enhancing political and economic relations with Saudi Arabia.

Ambassador Trad conveyed the greetings of King Abdullah and Crown Prince Sultan, deputy premier, minister of defense and aviation and inspector general, to the Indian president.

He also stressed that the Kingdom is keen on increasing cooperation with India in various fields of common interest.
