RIYADH: Commerce and Industry Minister Abdullah Zainal Alireza opened a branch of the Bab Rizq Jameel (BRJ), a part of Abdul Latif Jameel Community Services Programs (ALJCSP), in the Al-Hamra district of Riyadh on Sunday. Chairman of Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Abdul Rahman Al-Jeraisy and ALJCSP chairman Mohammed Jameel were among those who attended the function.
The minister, who opened the center by cutting a ribbon, was briefed on BRJ projects to boost employment generation.
“The BRJ aims at creating 7,000 employment opportunities in Riyadh out of a total target of 38,000 for this year,” Jameel said. “After the program had its beginning in Riyadh in 2005, BRJ has now reached a stage where we can open a new branch with plans to generate 10,000 employment opportunities next year.”
“In the coming years it will focus on increasing the productivity of Saudi youth and distribution of job opportunities among young men and women,” he added.
A memorandum of understanding with the Committee for Young Businessmen of the RCCI was signed during the function. An agreement was also signed with Ajlan & Brothers Co.
Alireza distributed checks to owners of small projects after the ceremony.
The new branch, which will be the main BRJ center in Riyadh, is located on King Abdullah Street to the east, before the intersection of Khaled bin Waleed Street.
The new branch will provide 25 commercial outlets for owners of small projects, in addition to six offices for rent. Twelve young men are employed in the branch to help job seekers.
