JEDDAH: Twenty volunteers provided free tuition for orphans in Jeddah in preparation for exams that begin on Saturday. The volunteers are from the Orphans’ Friends Group.
The Al-Birr Charitable Society is looking after the orphans. Its director Mahmoud Baqees said the volunteers conducted special revision classes on important subjects for five days continuously.
“The volunteers encouraged orphans to score top marks in exams. They gave classes from 4-8 p.m.,” he said. More than 350,000 secondary and intermediate students are to sit exams from Saturday. Director of education in Jeddah Abdullah Al-Thaqafi said all schools in the city have completed necessary preparations.
More than 300 education supervisors will be deployed to monitor the exams. Education officials will also conduct inspection tours of schools to give daily reports about the progress of exams.
