The clinic was run by an Arab national in an apartment in Tahlia Street, close to Serafi Mall. The clinic, which did not have a name board, had been working for the last six months.
Officials from the medical license section inspected the clinic and found that it was operating without a license.
The officials then closed the clinic and called the Arab expatriate who was running the facility to the department for investigation. Stringent punishment will be given to those who operate unlicensed clinics.
The directorate of health affairs said it would continue to inspect health facilities so as to prevent violations and excesses. It also advised Saudis and residents, for their own safety, to go to licensed hospitals and clinics for health services.
Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Jawad, assistant director of health affairs in Jeddah, said health officials’ inspection tours were aimed at making sure that people followed the rules and regulations.
“Those who violate regulations and endanger the health of citizens and residents will be punished in accordance with the law,” said Abdul Jawad.
