Coyotes 3 Stars 2, SO: In Dallas, Adrian Aucoin scored in the fourth round of the shootout and Phoenix matched the franchise record with its ninth straight victory.
The Winnipeg Jets, who moved to Phoenix in 1996, also won nine in a row from March 8-27, 1985. Closing in on their first playoff berth since 2002, the Coyotes have 97 points to match Chicago for the most in the Western Conference.
Radim Vrbata beat Marty Turco on the backhand in the third round, and Aucoin was successful for the fifth time in five shootout attempts this season. The Coyotes improved to 12-4 in shootouts this season and have won eight straight tiebreakers.
Petr Prucha and Vrbata had power-play goals for Phoenix. Jamie Bennand Loui Eriksson scored for Dallas.
Oilers 5 Sharks 1: In Edmonton, Alberta, Devan Dubnyk made 27 saves for his second straight win, and Dustin Penner and Shawn Horcoff each had a goal and an assist for Edmonton.
Robert Nilsson, Fernando Pisani and Aaron Johnson also scored for Edmonton.
Ryane Clowe spoiled Dubnyk’s shutout bid, scoring with 3:02 left. San Jose, coming off road losses at Vancouver and Calgary, is 0-5-1 in its last six games.
Thrashers 3 Flyers 1: In Philadelphia, Ondrej Pavelec made 44 saves, Ron Hainsey, Todd White and Rich Peverley scored, and Atlanta beat Philadelphia to move within a point of eighth-place Boston in the Eastern Conference.
The Thrashers have won four straight since a six-game losing streak dropped them to ninth in the eight-team race for playoff spots.

Bruins 2 Rangers 1: In Boston, Miroslav Satan and Dennis Wideman scored, and Tuukka Rask made 23 saves to help Boston beat New York.
Boston, eighth in the Eastern Conference with 76 points with 11 games left, have a one-point lead over ninth-place Atlanta and a five-point advantage over the Rangers. Michael Del Zotto scored for the Rangers.
Panthers 5 Lightning 2: In Sunrise, Fla., Nathan Horton, David Boothand Cory Stillman scored in the first period and Florida snapped a three-game losing streak.
Stephen Weiss and Radek Dvorak added third-period goals, and Scott Clemmensen made 29 saves for the Panthers. Steven Stamkos and Steve Downie scored for Tampa Bay. The Lightning have lost five straight and have won just two of their last 14.
Wild 4 Flames 3: In St. Paul, Minn., Chuck Kobasew scored twice and Minnesota won its third straight home game, beating Calgary for the fifth time in six games.
Josh Harding made 29 saves, and Andrew Brunette and Guillaume Latendresse also scored for Minnesota, seven points behind eighth-place Detroit in the Western Conference. Steve Staios, Ian White and Eric Nystrom scored for Calgary, two points behind Detroit.
Sabres 5 Hurricanes 3: In Raleigh, N.C., Jochen Hecht had two goals, Tim Connolly, Toni Lydman and Tim Kennedy also scored, and Ryan Miller made 27 saves for Buffalo.
The Sabres won their third straight to finish 3-1-1 on a five-game trip.
Sergei Samsonov, Brandon Sutter and Eric Staal scored for Carolina.
Predators 3 Blues 2: In St. Louis, Dustin Boyd scored his second goal of the game 48 seconds after Nashville teammate Patric Hornqvist tied it late in the third period.
Defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo had a goal and assist for the Blues, and David Perron also scored. Colaiacovo’s power-play goal in the first period ended Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne’s shutout streak at 149:04.
