“The new system will solve the current problem in getting licenses to establish tourism and recreational projects on the Corniche,” Prince Abdullah told Arab News. He said the previous licensing measures had a negative impact on tourism projects.
He said the new system, which has won the support of Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal and Jeddah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Majed, would reduce the prices that recreation facilities in the area charge. “At present these recreational facilities operate only about 100 days a year. When they operate throughout the year, the prices will go down,” he pointed out.
Speaking about future projects and the committee’s activities, Prince Abdullah said: “We have a plan to hold cultural evenings at resorts. These will include poem recitations, stage shows and special programs for children.”
He said the programs would be held during the summer vacation and Eid holidays.
