Top Spanish bullfighter gored in Mexico

Salvador Boix says matador Jose Tomas lost up to eight liters of blood after a nearly 500-kg bull named Navegante gored him in the left groin Saturday in the city of Aguascalientes, penetrating 4 inches and puncturing a vein and an artery. Boix spoke Sunday to Spanish radio station Cadena Ser.
Tomas has a relatively rare blood type - A+ - and bled so profusely that bullring officials appealed over the arena loudspeakers for compatible donors to come forward, Boix said.
Tomas was operated on immediately at the bullring and then again at a hospital for more than three hours.
