“Municipality inspectors found yards that were used to store scrap metals. The total area affected measured 200 by 300 square meters. Inspectors also found and demolished walls that were illegally encroaching on other people’s lands,” said Jeddah Southern Municipal Office Director Abdullah Al-Ghamdi.
The municipality also suspect the yards have been used for other illicit acts and illegal collections of waste.
“The municipality received several complaints from people in the area with regard to these yards. We urge people in the area to file complaints when they witness things that pose a health risk to them or the public,” said Al-Ghamdi.
