Qateef to have kidney center

He signed a contract with a national company recently to build the center, which will have advanced medical facilities to treat kidney patients.
In a statement on the occasion, Al-Saihati emphasized the importance of such a specialized center in the light of the increasing prevalence of renal diseases in the Kingdom.
“This center is very important for the people of Qateef in particular and the Kingdom as a whole. It will have specialized sections for the treating men, women, and children,” said Dr. Al-Saihati.
Located within the Qateef Central Hospital complex, the Saihati Kidney Center, covers an area of 1,900 square meters and will be ready within 24 months. Engineering design for the project was completed in July this year, and Salahib Construction, who won the contract, will commence work within a few days.
Najeeb Saihati, president of Saihati Group and the project manager, said the center would have around 50 beds. On the ground floor, there will be seven clinics and four peritoneal units in addition to offices of the hospital management and consultants and a lecture hall. On the first floor, there will be 16 haemodialysis units for women, 14 units for men and eight pediatric dialysis units apart from treatment rooms, isolation rooms and a laboratory.
