The projects include the construction of a ring road in Jeddah, an intersection on Madinah Road north of the Royal Terminal of King Abdul Aziz Airport and another intersection on Madinah Road north of Rehaili. Rio Trading and Contracting won the SR190 million deal.
The Transport Ministry has so far signed contracts worth SR9.12 billion for road projects approved in the current budget. “Only contracts for six projects worth SR583 million remain to be signed and they will be signed next month,” a ministry official said.
Another contract was signed to light the road between Rehaili and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Thuwal, northwest of Jeddah, and construct 66.5 km of roads from Qadimiya to the university for SR165 million. The project will be executed by Rawafid and Haif Al-Qahtani.
A contract has been signed to construct a bridge linking Arbaeen Street with the Rawabi district and repair Quwaiza intersection. The SR40 million project will be carried by Al-Watan Construction.
Another contract has been signed to implement the fourth phase of the third ring road in Madinah at a cost of SR147.87 million. Another contract has been signed to construct 105 km of the Khamis Mushait-Najran Road at a cost of SR140 million.
Three new roads linking Bisha-Raniya, Bisha-Jaaba and Khanqa-Ansalat will be constructed at a cost of SR112.8 million by Injaz Trading & Contracting.
The minister signed a contract with Omair Trading & Contracting to construct 104 km of Madinah-Hail Road at a cost of SR228.3 million. In Jizan, 95 kms of new roads will be constructed at a cost of SR599 million by Al-Oyuni Investment & Contracting. Haqv-Raith-Jella Al-Hayya Road will be developed at a cost of SR149.96 million by Saad Al-Mubti.
Abdul Aali Al-Ajmi has won a contract worth SR111.38 million to develop Jeddah-Jazan Road. The contracts also covered construction of Najran-Sharourah-Wadia Road at a cost of SR189 million by Abdullah Al-Khodary’s Sons. Baha will have new roads worth SR80 million, which will be constructed by Obaid Al-Motairy.
