Though there were protest rallies in some parts of the state against the demolition of the mosque, there was no untoward incident reported from anywhere.
Speaking at a press conference here on Monday, Prasad slammed the Congress party alleging that the Congress was giving a political twist to the dispute and obstructing the construction of a temple in Ayodhya. "Vote bank politics is the obstacle in the way of having a solution to the Ayodhya dispute," Prasad said.
"I have no doubt that Muslims would cooperate and give up their claims on the disputed site allowing the Hindus to construct the temple peacefully," he said and claimed that many Muslims had favored the recent judgment of the Allahabad Bench of the Lucknow High Court.
Prasad, who is also the BJP spokesperson demanded immediate action against Congress MP from Pune, Suresh Kalmadi who was the chairman of the organizing committee of the Commonwealth Games (CWG) for his role in the CWG scam. "The BJP demands that Kalmadi be interrogated and immediate action be taken against him," Prasad said.
"Be it the CWG or the 2G spectrum scam, the fact is that corruption is linked right up to the prime minister's office. The BJP is firm on its stand and demand that a joint parliamentary committee probe corruption in both the scams."
Criticizing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Prasad said that though the BJP holds Singh in high esteem as an economist, it fails to understand why despite being so erudite on the subject he could not control inflation and price hike.
