Dardasha, the women-only restaurant, offers à-la-carte dining for ladies with indoor and alfresco seating, and includes a sophisticated array of traditional Middle Eastern and international cuisine.
A dinner reception was held on Jan. 6 at the family buffet restaurant, Andalusia, in celebration of its opening. Located on the ground floor of Jeddah’s Park Hyatt Hotel, Andalusia serves Moorish cuisine and offers a wide range of buffet items and fresh meat and seafood grill. With a memorable Mediterranean design, its open kitchen concept provides customers with a cozy ambiance.
The place itself is rather charming with natural wood décor, romantic flowers and modern lights and candles. The open area surrounded by white curtains gives a sense of clarity. Even better, the sea surrounds it from all sides.
The restaurant’s vast selection of items is changed weekly and range from Moorish cuisine from Morocco to Spain. Even more, it imports all its spices directly from the countries of origin to prepare its specialty dishes.
We indulged in fresh juice, different kinds of Tajens, a rich variety of salads, Harira soup, seafood paella, spicy crunchy tuna and desserts. All the food presented were well-known dishes prepared professionally with special spices and marinades. Together with fresh ingredients, they were both unique and delicious.
Topping the list was the seafood paella, which everyone enjoyed. The secret was its fresh seafood, which was imported from Europe. The spicy crunchy tuna and pickles were very good as well. Lightly fried, the tasty flavors gave it an interesting and satisfying crunchy texture while maintaining the overall freshness of the tuna. One could not eat a big quantity of it, however, as it was too salty. The Harira soup tasted the same as it does in most places, but guests still enjoyed it.
Dessert and Moroccan tea (both green and red), which was rightfully suggested by the waiters, ended a fantastic meal.
With its nice décor, friendly staff and excellent chefs, Andalusia is open daily from 6:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m.
Dardasha opens daily from 12 p.m. until 7 p.m.
