Under the deal with Marafiq, a Saudi Arabian power and water utility company, Halla Energy & Environment will complete the expansion by January 2013, said a company statement, cited by the Yonhap news agency.
The plant is located in the Yanbu industrial complex, 300 km north of Jeddah.
The expansion will raise the plant’s sewage treatment capacity to 47,000 cubic meters a day from 27,000 cubic meters.
According to Yonhap, Halla Energy & Environment said it will continue to expand its presence in the Middle East and North Africa.
