Indian media reported the fire erupted Friday evening at the Garib Nagar slum and continued to blaze throughout the night.
There were no reports of serious casualties.
“Slumdog” stars Rubina Ali and Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail lived in the slum until a trust set up by the film-makers bought their families homes.
