SCTA President Prince Sultan bin Salman, met with Ibrahim Al-Hunaishel, general manager of the SCB, on Monday and discussed bilateral cooperation, especially the financial support for tourism and urban heritage projects, an SCTA statement said.
SCB’s financial support comes in the wake of a partnership adopted by the SCTA in its relationships with the public and private sectors to achieve national tourism development in the Kingdom, in addition to providing required financial, consultation and training support.
The SCB provides loans to citizens to enable them to contribute to the Kingdom's development. The SCTA and the SCB had earlier announced a program on “How to Start Your Own Tourism Business” in cooperation with the Social Responsibility department of the National Commercial Bank and the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Abdullah Al-Washeel, the SCTA's director general for the National Project for Tourism Human Resources Development (Takamul), said the project aims to support citizens to professionally start their own small tourism projects.
He also said the program is expected to get advisory support and funding from competent authorities after completion of the training program that will be conducted under the directive of Prince Sultan bin Salman. He said the program was intended for citizens who are below 45 years old, have at least a high school diploma and pass the interview.
He added that they should also be able to prove their commitment to the program and in participating in the investment process.
