PRC celebrates Pakistan Day, seeks voting rights for overseas Pakistanis

Athar Nafees Abbasi, poet and president of Urdu Markaz, presiding over the event said: "It's our duty to adhere to the teachings of Quaide Azam and dedicate ourselves to realize the objectives of Pakistan in accordance with its resolution of March 23, 1940.
Mohammad Jamil Rathore, general secretary of Pakistan Journalists Forum, said: "On this day we should commit to elect to the Parliament only those who have a proven corruption-free record." He demanded repatriation of Pakistanis stranded in Bangladesh on the basis of PRC's proposal of self-finance scheme.
Syed Neaz Ahmed, president Pakistan Writers Forum, Tassawar Hussain Chowdhry general secretary of Pakistan Peoples Community, Gulab Khan, Dr. Irfan Hashmi, organiser of Mjlise Allama Iqbal, Mohammad Ashfaque Badaouni, Hamid Islam Khan, Tariq Mahmoud, Syed Shahabuddin and PRC convener, Syed Ehsanul Haque and others said every Pakistani was obligated to carry forward the mission of Quaide Azam.
Poets Syed Mohsin Alavi, Athar Abbasi, Abdul Qayyum Waseq, Zamurrad Khan Saifi and Gule Anwar presented poems on the occasion. Sher Afzal presented national song.
