Porter had two goals and Janssen and seven other St.
Louis players each had one.
The Red Wings gave up eight goals in the first two
periods of a game for the first time since 1986 and 10 in a game for the first
time since 1993.
Goalie Joey MacDonald, playing for the injured Jimmy
Howard, left the game after giving up five goals midway through the second
period. He returned in the third after Thomas McCollum allowed three goals on
eight shots.
Mike Modano, Todd Bertuzzi and Henrik Zetterberg scored
for Detroit.
In Calgary, Alberta, Ray Emery made 23
saves and Corey Perry scored twice as Anaheim beat Calgary, dealing a blow to
the Flames' slim playoff chances.
Emery, signed in early February after recovering from a
hip injury that required surgery last April, improved to 6-0-0 for the surging
Ducks, who have won seven of their last eight games.
Anaheim jumped from seventh to sixth place in the Western
Conference standings, six points ahead of ninth-place Calgary and Dallas.
Calgary remained three points behind Chicago for the final playoff spot.
Perry scored his 45th and 46th goals of the season to
break a tie with Tampa Bay's Steven Stamkos for the NHL lead.
In Buffalo, New York, Jhonas Enroth
stopped 23 shots for his first career shutout as Buffalo defeated the New York
Rangers.
Tim Connolly scored 5:28 into the second period to help
the Sabres move into a tie with the Rangers for seventh place in the Eastern
Conference standings with 10 days left in the season.
The Rangers lost in regulation for just the first time in
eight games (6-1-1), but they've scored just three goals in their past four
games, including a pair of 1-0 shutout victories.
The Sabres improved to 5-1-1 in their past seven games.
In Raleigh, North Carolina,
Jeff Skinner had two goals and an assist, Jamie McBain scored twice and Cam
Ward made 38 saves for Carolina.
Cory Stillman added a goal and an assist and Joni
Pitkanen had a goal for the ninth-place Hurricanes, who are three points behind
Buffalo and the New York Rangers in the race for one of the eight Eastern
Conference playoff spots.
Mike Cammalleri and P.K. Subban scored power-play goals
for Montreal, which lost for the fifth time in seven games.
Carolina has won six of its last eight.
At Newark, New Jersey, Andy Greene
scored with 4:56 left to lead New Jersey past the New York Islanders.
Frans Nielsen scored a pair of goals 4:06 apart in the
third period to bring the Islanders even at 2-all. But then Greene took a pass
from Patrik Elias, glided into the left circle and slapped a shot over Rick
DiPietro's left pad.
Ilya Kovalchuk and Jacob Josefson also scored for New
Jersey.
