Ollanta Humala met Thursday with Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff. Afterward, Rousseff adviser Marco Aurelio Garcia told reporters that Brazil will offer “technical cooperation” to help with Peru’s projects.
Humala was once close to Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
But in his campaign and since, Humala has painted himself a center leftist more in the mold of former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
Brazil is the first country Humala has visited since winning election on Sunday.
