Chairman of the Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG) Prince Faisal bin Salman welcomed the appointment, hoping that Qallab's expertise in the media field would be greatly beneficial to the board.
The SRPC set up the board of trustees three years ago, a first in the Arab media, with the aim of improving editorial content for the company’s publications and to ensure the separation of administration from editorial.
The 15th meeting of the board, held at the company’s headquarters in Riyadh last Thursday, regarded Al-Qallab's membership of the board a boost to the company’s publications as he is a prominent media personality in the Arab world.
The board also elected Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Shubaily its new chairman to succeed Yamani and Muhammad Al-Hilwa its deputy chairman.
