The Yanbu attack trial in Riyadh has provided a sense of security among the people who now know that the legal and security system in the Kingdom does not allow any criminal to get away with crime.
“The stability and security in the Kingdom are contrary to what is happening in many other countries.  We, Saudis have no doubt that the trial of the accused will be free and fair,” said Nasser Al-Subaei, a Saudi resident in Riyadh.
Al-Subaei said people in many towns have been living in fear, especially when traveling to areas where terrorists had been hiding.
“However the arrest of militants and the success of the security organs to bring them before the law has put our minds at rest,” he said.
Saudi resident in Riyadh Fadi Al-Ozhaimi said the public trial is a great success for the Saudi society that has been suffering the devastation and woes caused by a few followers of the devil.
“Those evil men have been seeking to fulfill the wishes of wicked men who have planned to destabilize the peaceful Saudi society and destroy the achievements of the country through murders and destruction,” Al-Ozhaimi said.
He added that Saudi society has demanded that the trial be fair and capable of giving justice to the innocent people killed by terrorists.
“The courts, through their fair verdicts, should obliterate the deep scar on the image of society that has made the world look at Saudi society with suspicion and fear. The punishment should also be a deterrent to others who dare to engage in destructive activities in future,” he said. He also enumerated the ordeal Saudi travelers and students had to go through with humiliating airport checks and profiling because of the wicked acts of the terrorists, of whom Saudis number very little.
Saudi Faris Al-Harbi lamented the miseries caused by terrorists to the people in the Kingdom and said he hoped that these trials would bring to an end to terrorism in the Kingdom.
