Relatives told police the girl was with them at the Al-Hadban Park, where the family had their outing, and only realized that the girl was missing when they could not find her as they planned to leave.
Her brother, who was accompanying the police team, spotted the girl sitting alone in the Grand Mosque. In fact it was a telephone call from an unidentified person to a female relative of the girl about the girl’s presence in the mosque that led the police to go to Makkah and comb the mosque premises.
The girl told police that no one hurt her and she did not remember how she reached Makkah. She added that she remembered only falling unconscious at the park and then she woke up in a hospital in Makkah. She did not know who brought her to Makkah. Then she went to the mosque and was sitting there until police found her, she said.
