The announcement was made by Abdullah bin Muflih Al-Hamid, director general of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance in Riyadh, who said the grand congregations in the capital would take place at Imam Turki Mosque and Mohammad bin Ibrahim Mosque at Qasr Al-Hukm (Palace of Governance).
For the comfort of the public, the main open congregation will be held at King Faisal Road as usual and others can easily go to prepared open areas located throughout Riyadh, said the official. He added that in case of changing weather conditions, worshippers can easily shift to the nearest mosque where alternative arrangements have been made.
In Riyadh the prayer will start after sunrise at 6:27 a.m.
Al-Hamid said an adequate number of mosques in many districts, which are far away from the open areas, have been readied to accommodate local worshipers.
This is in accordance with the directive of Sheikh Saleh bin Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikh, minister of Islamic affairs, who ordered local authorities to ensure these mosques and other praying areas were ready to receive worshippers.
Meanwhile, Director of Endowments, Mosques, Call and Guidance in Jeddah Sheikh Fihaid Muhammad Al-Barqi said a total of 145 locations were prepared for Eid prayer in Jeddah. He explained that the locations consisted of open spaces and mosques.
He said the prayer places were supplied by rugs and amplifiers, so that worshippers could perform the Eid prayer in ease and comfort.
