Prince Sultan also discussed with the mayor a number of issues of mutual interest in the domain of tourism, antiquities and heritage.
In a statement, Prince Sultan thanked the mayor for his kind invitation, warm welcome and generous hospitality and commended the mayoralty’s mega projects and the progress achieved by Ankara, which is replete with historical sites and Islamic legacy.
"Ankara is a metropolitan city that is passing through a historical phase. We are learning from the city's experiment in the promotion of tourist activities to attract citizens, especially the youth, to tourist festivities and historic locations," he said.
Prince Sultan described Turkey's investment in the field of Islamic heritage as a successful step toward linking the people to their rich history. "We are looking forward to constructive cooperation with all partners concerned with tourism, antiquities and heritage in Turkey," he said.
Prince Sultan was accompanied by Muhammad Abdullah Barry, charge d'affaires at the Saudi Embassy in Ankara; Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Ghabban, SCTA vice president for antiquities and museums; and Mashari bin Abdullah Al-Naeem, supervisor of the National Heritage Center.
