Mayor Elizabeth Cortz of Burnsville, Minnesota said that American goals proved to be similar to the Kingdom’s with regard to utilizing the local market when drawing up tourism plans and programs, during her meeting with Chairman of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) Prince Sultan bin Salman.
The mayor is part of a delegation of American city mayors who visited the SCTA, where they reviewed the commission's projects in the fields of tourism, antiquities and urban construction. Prince Sultan also reviewed relations between the Kingdom and the USA.
The chairman told the US mayors about the historical, economic and cultural advantages the Kingdom enjoys and the efforts Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah is exerting to achieve comprehensive development in the country.
Prince Sultan noted the king's leading role in interfaith dialogue and his initiatives in promoting peaceful living among cultures, which was reflected in the establishment of the King Abdullah International Center for Interfaith Dialogue in Austria last week.
