Police found 118 bottles of the illegal liquor and a number of empty or half empty bottles and equipment for brewing and distilling hooch hidden in his house. Police also seized two Kalashnikovs and SR11,800 from him. Spokesman for Hail police Col. Abdul Aziz Al-Zenaidi told Arab News that investigators raided the suspect's house after receiving a tipoff.
The seized drinks and equipment were destroyed in the presence of officials, he said.
Meanwhile, police are investigating a suspected suicide involving a Saudi youth in the town of Hait in Hail province, Al-Zenaidi said.
The man in his 30s was killed by a bullet from his own gun and it is not clear if it was an accident or suicide, he said.
The man's mother told police that she found her son lying dead in front of his house when she rushed out after hearing gunfire. She also found a gun in his right hand.
Hait is 250 km away from Hail city. The case is being investigated.
