However, the “Takaful Al-Osriyah,” a family reconciliation committee, has saved at least one couple from divorce, Al-Yaum daily reported on Wednesday.
Chairman of the Takaful committee Ghazi Al-Shamri said they received a call last week from a man who decided to divorce his wife because he found some men's photographs on her phone.
The committee discussed the issue with the man and persuaded him to have a conversation with his wife. The couple talked with the help of the committee and finally succeeded to remove all their misunderstandings.
They decided to turn over a new leaf in their family life.
Al-Shamri said he also hoped to open a clinic for people who are addicted to porn sites or who exploit the IT for unhealthy practices.
He said the committee made an agreement with the director of the Vision Center for Societal Studies Ibrahim Al-Dowaish to explore the possibilities of employing psychoanalytical techniques to help porn addicts.
They also planned to educate people on the profitable use of IT techniques.
Al-Shamri also thanked Eastern Province Gov. Prince Muhammad bin Fahd for issuing orders to solve social issues and for his support to the family reconciliation committee.
