Aboard the maiden flight were a number of Jet Airways executives, travel industry professionals as well as crewmembers with gifts and bouquet of flowers in their hands, congratulating each other as well as exchanging greetings and good wishes with passengers on this occasion.
"The first flight had full passenger loads and was operated with Boeing 737 800 aircraft," said A. K. Saleem, country manager for Jet Airways.
Saleem said the new flight is a daily service, departing Riyadh at 5 p.m. (Saudi Time).
He said the new Jet Airways Flight 9W 526 leaves Mumbai for Riyadh at 2 p.m. (India time) and arrives at 4 p.m. (Saudi time), while on the return journey; flight 9W 525 departs Riyadh at 5 p.m. (Saudi time) and arrives in Mumbai at 11.15 p.m. local time.
The airline has deployed the state-of-the-art Boeing 737-800 aircraft, offering 16 premiere and 138 economy class seats, said Saleem.
He said the flight frequencies on the Riyadh-Mumbai-Riyadh sector offer seamless connections to several destinations to travelers across the network through the Mumbai gateway.
Jet Airways currently operates flights to more than 75 destinations.
