The two officials, who underlined the need for further strengthening ties in the defense sector, also shared information about several initiatives taken by Islamabad in the field of defense and security.
"All matters relating to bilateral defense cooperation between the Kingdom and Pakistan were discussed," said Khan.
"Both sides expressed satisfaction over the existing level of cooperation in this field," said the envoy, adding that Prince Salman expressed pleasure over the growing relationship with Islamabad. The meeting was also attended by Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, special advisor to Prince Salman.
A statement released by the Pakistani Embassy Tuesday said: "Both sides agreed that Riyadh and Islamabad must explore ways and means to further enhance and deepen this relationship for mutual benefits." Pakistan, it said, has developed extensive commercial, cultural, religious and strategic relations including relations in the defense sector with the Kingdom over the years.
"The envoy shared with Prince Salman several initiatives that would enable the two countries to take forward the bilateral strategic partnership," said the statement.
To this end, it must be noted that Pakistan's navy ship PNS Babar will reach Jubail on Feb. 15 for a five-day goodwill-cum-training visit. The visit of the ship comes within the framework of maritime cooperation.
