The ceremony was attended top Turkish diplomats, travel agents and tourism industry executives, who were greeted by Manchester United legend Andrew Cole in Riyadh.
"As part of Manchester United trophy tour in the Middle East, and to support our partner Turkish Airlines, we are here to meet and greet our fans," said Cole, while speaking on this occasion.
"This is my fist visit to the Kingdom and I would like to come to this country again," said Cole, an English footballer, who is fondly remembered as the second-highest goal-scorer in Premier League history.
Cole has the distinction of being one of the few players in England to have swept all possible honors in the English game, including the PFA Young Player of the Year award, as well as the coveted UEFA Champions League title.
Ersen Engin, the airline's general manager for Saudi Arabia, was also present together with Turkish embassy officials - Omer M. Yajgan and Huseyin Es — as well the officials of Manchester United Limited and Turkish Airlines.
Nick Humphreys, Manchester's relationship director; Mohammed Bilal Doner, the airline's regional marketing manager; Mehmet Enis Tegin, regional cargo manager; Selim Tuzci, general manager for Eastern Province and Sasinath Babu, regional marketing manager, were present.
The Manchester United Championship Trophy Tour will be in the Middle East until March 11.
Turkish Airlines, which operates flights from Manchester Airport, carried 25.1 million passengers last year.
