It said the punishments will include the closure of all the violating shops until they have signed contracts with Saudi saleswomen and register them with the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI).
The ministry said it has coordinated with all the other concerned government departments to close down any lingerie shop that is employing salesmen even if they were Saudi citizens.
“If an establishment has 100 lingerie shops and all of them, except one, are fully manned by women, the remaining one will be closed down,” the ministry warned.
After giving the lingerie shops until Jan. 4 to abide by the decision to feminize all the jobs, the ministry started an inspection campaign to check all lingerie shops that were still employing men and immediately imposed sanctions on them. The punishments start with preventing the establishments from the services being provided by the ministry and increases until final closure.
The shops selling other women material including make-up, accessories and clothes have been given until June 30 to feminize all their jobs.
