Mazan Batterjee, the vice chairman of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) inaugurated the exhibition on women’s work, which was held under the supervision of the JCCI, in cooperation with Jeddah municipality and Al-Eman cancer patients care charitable society.
The five-day exhibition will target 20,000 visitors with the participation of banks, companies, businessmen in the gold market, car companies, tour operators and owners of small and medium-sized enterprises.
Maya Halvavi, the president of the organizing committee, said this exhibition would contribute to the society’s development and help in promoting a culture of working women. More than 100 companies participated in the exhibition to give a maximum amount of opportunities to Saudi women to meet directly with employers, debate, participate in question and answer sessions, and increase creativity and knowledge.
“We have great expectations. This is a family exhibition where families can come and see what opportunities are available for women in the market. We are expecting around 6,000 new jobs for Saudi women this year and more than 25,000 individuals will benefit from those,” said Halvavi.
Al-Eman Society organized this exhibition to provide social rehabilitation to cancer patients, treatment, awareness about the prevention of cancer and support for cancer patients and their families in the form of aid and social services.
Juhra Al-Anqari, president of the society, said the exhibition has distinct sections on health and fitness, social and economic development, children and family needs, manpower to spur the country’s growth, the role of women in business and the development of national human resources.
“This will help strengthen the links and communication with the community through training, rehabilitation and employment of Saudi staff. It will also contribute to reducing the unemployment rate, with a promise to young Saudis of both sexes and people with special needs,” Al-Anqari added.
Many companies in the exhibition are offering opportunities and information to the jobseekers under one roof.
Wojdan Ahmed, from a private company, said that this exhibition would provide excellent opportunities for Saudi women to get better jobs and it would help develop the culture of women work.
