He said the council held a meeting yesterday and heard a detailed report on the mayoralty’s operations and the measures taken to improve its administration. Muhammad Al-Zahrani, director general of the customer service department at the mayoralty, disclosed plans to establish an operations and control center.
The council also endorsed the budget proposed by the mayoralty for 2012 after studying it. It thanked the department for strategic planning at the mayoralty for its efforts to organize meetings and provide information.
Abdullah Al-Muhammadi, deputy chairman of the council, said Mayor Hani Abu Ras had agreed to support the council by providing a specialized cadre including two assistants to the secretary general: one for financial and administrative affairs and the other for committee affairs.
He thanked the mayoralty for implementing a project to strengthen its operations center (940), which would provide information through an automatic system to those who contact it. The system will enable the public to know what actions have been taken on their request.
The council urged the mayoralty to prepare a directory of measures to be taken for the accomplishment of every service. “We have presented a plan for the development of the operations center at the mayoralty,” Al-Muhammadi said, adding the mayoralty had welcomed it quickly.
