SNM promotes harmony among Tamils

SNM is a prominent Tamil organization focusing on socio-welfare interest of Indian Tamils in the Gulf region and took  the initiative to organize “Chithirai Kondattam” (Welcoming the Tamil New year).
The event was attended by a wide cross section of Tamil community to celebrate the Tamil New Year. The welcome address was given by program coordinator Vijendran.
Children showcased their skills in dance, song, drama and Tamil poem recitation. It was amazing to see little Shanaz Basha’s scintillating dance to an Arabic song.
Ms. Geetha Charles, Ms. Hebzi John and the team, gave an awesome performance in a drama emphasizing the importance of extracurricular activities for children.
The winners of spell bee and collage competition were awarded. The participants were encouraged with gifts, certificates and medals.
Gopal Veda  delivered the presidential address explaining the achievement and welfare activities of SNM. He also emphasized SNM’s ideals, values and future plans.
Indian Consul General Faiz Ahmed Kidwai addressed the gathering, while, Consul S.D. Moorthy (welfare) graced the occasion. He stressed the importance of supporting needy fellow Indians and abiding by the laws of Saudi Arabia in his address.
Mohideen presented a memento to Kidwai, while Pandian presented a memento to Moorthy.
On this occasion, SNM made an announcement of financial assistance to the family of an Indian national Sigamani, who died in Jeddah recently. Indian Consulate had made arrangements for his cremation in Jeddah as desired by his family in Tamil Nadu.
Mohd Ali of Jeddah National Hospital and Mohideen Bava of Al Nawras Stationary were honored on the occasion.
The program was anchored by Amir Basha and Mrs. Anuratha Victor while Mohideen proposed vote of thanks.
