The governor will launch several utility and development projects worth billions of riyals during the visit to the regions of Dhuba, Al-Wajh, Amlaj, Haql and Markaz Al-Bidae. He will open a number of projects that are ready for operation, in addition to laying the foundation stone for projects that have been planned recently.
The governor will also inspect the progress of the projects that are under various phases of implementation. These projects are estimated to cost a total of more than SR6.15 billion.
These include electricity, general education, technical and vocational education, tourism, road, water, sewage and municipal projects.
There are several projects worth a total of SR2.4 billion in Dhuba, SR2 billion in Al-Wajh, SR834 million in Amlaj and SR828.23 million in Haql and Markaz Al-Bidae. The governor will also launch a number of charity projects under the Prince Fahd bin Sultan Social Charity Program Society.
Speaking to the Saudi Press Agency, Prince Fahd said these projects would benefit citizens in various sectors and improve the utility services being extended to them.
He commended the development boom being witnessed in various regions of the Kingdom thanks to the great support and keenness of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Crown Prince Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior.
The governor highlighted the significance of conducting an inspection tour of regions in order to facilitate an intimate interaction with people, understand their problems and closely follow up on the projects being implemented to improve utility services for them.
“When we assess things, it is impossible for us to evaluate them properly by staying far away from where it is actually taking place. Hence, it is imperative to visit the regions and rural centers and have a close look at affairs, and speak directly to citizens to know precisely what their problems and conditions are,” Prince Fahd said while adding that he looks forward to look after the best interests of citizens in a way fulfilling the aspirations of the Kingdom’s leadership.
Referring to the ongoing development projects in the province, the governor said: “There is not a single day that passes without either a project opening or the foundation stone laid for another or a project being implemented in any one of the regions of the Kingdom. It is evident from what we have achieved that this country rests on strong foundations with its traditions and customs and we have to adhere firmly to them,” he added.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Al-Laheedan, director general of education in the province, said Prince Fahd bin Sultan will open 26 educational projects and lay the foundation stones for 32 others. He will also inspect the progress of work in 68 projects that are under implementation. The new projects are estimated to cost a total of SR1.2 billion.
