Speculator shows planned to mark Jeddah Festival

Mohammed Abdul Kareem Al-Safah, director of festivals and tourism programs in the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) said that for the first time in 14 years they decided to decorate the KAIA south and north terminals during the 35-day-long festival.
“The arrangements are under way now with officials from the airport and the Civil Aviation Authority for the development of the festival logo, banners, TV screens and the establishment of the information centers.
These will provide information, distribute promotional gifts, maps and events list of the festival to the visitors of Jeddah,” said Al-Safah.
He further said that the information centers would work around the clock.
The promotional gifts would also be presented to the public at malls participating in the events.
This year's festival would feature as many as 150 activities, including cultural, social, sports, and entertainment events. These target all sections of society as well as visitors to the city.
Jeddah Corniche, leading commercial centers, malls, parks, and public squares will be main venues of the event. There will be spectacular dancing fountains near the Equestrian Club, a display of fireworks at Al-Nawras Square and south Obhur, in addition to a dolphin show, sports and games, comedy shows, circus and programs for children.
A contract has been signed with a transport company to take tourists and visitors to various festival spots for the first time in the history of the festival.
The Tourism Development Council will make available of a toll free number to inform the public about the activities of the festival as well as discounts and offers at hotels. The festival is expected to attract around 2 million visitors from around the Kingdom and abroad and generate an income of over SR5 billion.
