NAUSS seminar focuses on electronic media security

Secretary-general of the university and scientific supervisor of the symposium Dr. Abdulrahman bin Ibrahim Al-Shaer delivered a speech highlighting the importance of the symposium and its objectives.
He pointed out that the event has attracted attention from academic institutions and security firms.
He said electronic security could not be underestimated as it has much control on the lives of a large segment of members of the community, particularly young people and the emerging Internet generation.
He noted the university's achievements in the field of information security as implemented through its colleges and various centers, including holding 21 training sessions, producing 17 scientific studies, holding 19 scientific symposiums and producing 180 articles in its Security and Life monthly journal.
Dean of the Studies and Research Center Dr. Ahsan Taleb delivered a speech talking about the efforts of the center to achieve security.
He said the center was responsible for international conferences and scientific symposia, workshops and scientific studies attracting the participation of 30,765 participants from 28 countries.
Al-Ghamdi in his speech welcomed the audience and said this seminar comes in the light of growing media interest in electronic security and its related global issues such as electronic communication, especially through satellite TV and the Internet.
He explained that the importance of electronic security media pushed the university to create a diploma in information security, department of social sciences and faculty of graduate studies to produce graduates qualified in the field of information security.
The three-day seminar will discuss many pieces of research and scientific papers on the subject by experts from various Arab countries and relevant international organizations.
Participants include 120 specialists concerned with the media and security, and researchers and workers in the field of justice, social service and security coming from Arab countries such as Jordan, the UAE, Bahrain, Tunisia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco and Yemen.
The seminar aims to discuss the treatment and nature of electronic security media, clarify its importance in the present day and to understand its various uses.
