JEDDAH: International Indian School Jeddah scored a solitary goal win over Al Wurood International School to enter the final of the Inter-School football tournament for the Al-Abeer Trophy organized by the Saudi Indian Football Forum at the Education Ministry Stadium ground, Faisaliyah District.
In the semifinals played recently, Midfielder Mansoor scored the match winner to the delight of his teammates.
Ahmed Mohammed of IISJ was the Man-of-the-Match.
Anwar Charangi, Fahad Al Shahravi (Ground authority) and PA Mohammed (President Jamhiyat Al Ansar) were introduced to the players.
In a Division ‘B’ encounter, Badar Al Tamam United Sports got the better of Al-Abeer Sharafiya 2-0 to make the last four stage of the SIFF 17the League Championship. Ahmed Mansoor and Naushad Ali (penalty) found the target once in each half.
United Sports’ Shamseer Mohammed was the Man-of-the-Match.
Shihab Navodaya, Kunhavutty Abdul Kader, Majeed Arimbra were introduced to the players.
In a Division ‘A’ encounter, Nadec Blue Star ‘A’ and ABC Cargo Real Kerala ended with both teams splitting points and sharing two goals. Blue star tops the table with a better goal difference.
Muhammed Ashraf gave Real Kerala the lead early in the first half after he was set-up by Nishad. Blue Star missed a couple of chances through Ali and skipper Nizar. However, substitute Fousi Mon got the much-needed equalizer during the fag end of the match. Blue Star defender Byju was the Man-of-the-Match.
Pranav Ganesh (Consular Indian consulate consular services), VP Mohammed Ali (MD JNH), KPA Abdul Salam (MD Alpha Cargo), Abdul Shukoor (KIG) and Haris Nageri Friends Club were introduced to the players
In the last match of the day, OTS ACC ‘A’ held fancied Eastern Ernad Club goalless in a Division I match. Both teams have qualified for the semifinals. Ernad tops the group and will take on ABC Cargo Kerala in the knockout stage while ACC ‘A’ will take on Group ‘A’ leaders Blue Star in the other semifinal.
Ernad Club dominated proceedings right from the start. However, they could not convert their superiority into goals as rival custodian Sharafudheen was unbeatable on the day. The Ernad Club forward have themselves to be blamed as Safeer, Javed and Yasser were in a prodigal mood.
On the other hand, ACC’s only opportunity came when Shahad’s on the run effort was tipped over the bar by keeper Abdul Salam. Sharafudheen was the Man-of-the-Match.
K.O. Paulson (Sports Editor, Saudi Gazette), Musafir (Malayalam News), Nizamudheen Vice President SIFF and Ayoub Musaliyarakath Secretary SIFF) were introduced to the players.
