Saudi Aramco has joined forces anew with Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) to train Saudis in the petroleum and petrochemical industries sectors.
The partnership accord was revealed on Saturday by TVTC’s spokesman Fahd Al-Otaibi who said the first group of 934 graduates has joined Saudi Aramco and its affiliated companies while there are currently other 3,300 institute trainees who have signed employment contracts with the Saudi oil major,.
According to him, TVTC will be opening seven industrial training institutes in Al-Ahsa next Thursday. The launch of these institutes with the support of Eastern Province Gov. Prince Saud bin Naif, and officials from TVTC and Saudi Aramco underlines the partnership between the two government entities. Their rapport has significantly expanded during the last period.
He said the two organizations are considered strategic partners in several aspects including construction and operation of specialized training institutes and implementation of training programs.
He added: "Currently, we have six institutes operating as part of the partnership, including Saudi Technical Institute for Petroleum Services in Dammam with a branch in Al-Khafji that became operational in 2008. They train mechanics, drilling, pipes and operating.
Al-Otaibi said the partnership is not limited to running joint institutions but also is extended to the founding of a council of the energy sector for technical training and with the alliance of TVTC, Saudi Aramco, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), Saudi Electricity Company, Maaden, PE Saline Water Conversion, and Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu.
The partnership works to oversee the training and development of manpower in the energy sector with respect to professional skills training in the energy sector. It seeks to achieve the ultimate goal of providing technical and vocational training for youths seeking jobs in this growing sector.
