JEDDAH: Chaired by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Council of Economic and Development Affairs on Monday approved the governance framework for Saudi Vision 2030.
The framework contains details of roles and responsibilities of the government agencies that are tasked with achieving the aims of Saudi Vision 2030. Also included are the mechanisms to remove obstacles that may disrupt the executive programs of the stated goals.
In order to facilitate the aims, the council has formed a strategic committee, headed by the deputy crown prince. It is charged with following up the realization of Saudi Vision 2030 and translating it into detailed strategies and executive programs fixed to specific time schedules.
The council also approved the establishment of an office for strategic administration which will be affiliated to the committee and supported by the required human cadres in order to follow up the realization of the vision, determine loopholes, propose executive programs and submit regular reports concerning to what extent the executive programs have realized the set objectives.
The model applies the best international practices in the implementation of strategies. It also sets out the principles of transparency and accountability through the launch of electronic boards to follow up key performance indicators (KPIs) which will ensure the optimal implementation of Saudi Vision 2030.
