EP gears up for 10-day Eid festivities

DAMMAM: A total of 40 art and recreational events are set to be launched from the first day of Eid Al-Fitr 2016 under the sponsorship of the region’s Gov. Prince Saud bin Naif, according to Abdulrahman Al-Wabil, secretary general of the Eastern Province (EP) chamber.
The events are being organized by the EP Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as represented by the Occasions Fund.
The 10-day events will be held in various cities and provinces of the region, including Dammam, AlKhobar, Jubail, Ras Tanura, Abqaiq, Qatif, Al-Khafji, and Half Moon Bay, said Al-Wabil, calling all citizens and residents to enjoy these festive events which will continue for five days in the General Administration of Sports, and ten days in the malls.
Al-Wabil said that the events will host some famous poets, including Fahad Al-Shahrani, Saeed bin Manea, and Hamid Al-Dhabaan, who will present their well-known poems during youth events.
The Sports Hall in Dammam will host the ceremony, which takes place on the first day of Eid at 9.00 p.m., including a national choir event called “The people of Salman,” followed by a performance by Saudi Ardah, in addition to music programs dedicated to children, and a display of fireworks along the waterfronts of Dammam, Jubail and Ras Tanura.
During the days of Eid, there are about nine events expected to be held, including the hologram technology shows, the children’s play ‘Snow White,’ singing shows for children, as well as the fireworks show.
At the same time, family entertainment events will be kicked off in Al-Rashed Mall, Darren Mall, and Qatif City Mall, in addition to the children’s tent and youth events along Alkhobar waterfront.
