JEDDAH: There has been an outpouring of public support for members of the security forces after a terrorist attack Monday killed four policemen and injured several others near the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah.
Photos of solidarity with the security forces have appeared in print and social media as people used the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr to thank individuals from different security sectors in appreciation of their efforts in maintaining the country’s security, and the safety of its citizens, especially as they maintain high standards of efficiency in their performances and dedication to fulfilling their duties.
Citizens on social networking sites offered sincere thanks and gratitude for the efforts of the security forces. They congratulated and renewed their trust in officers facing challenges and risks while maintaining the country’s security and stability. Many social and popular initiatives showered security men with appreciation and gratitude for their heroic roles.
Social media sites were flooded with images that embody the feast days, with children waving banners expressing trust and appreciation, handing out roses and gifts to the security officers on the morning of Eid.
The headquarters of Civil Defense, the police and other law enforcement agencies were turned into places of joy, with visits organized by volunteer teams from some neighborhoods to congratulate them on Eid. They thanked the officers for their efforts and their work during Eid, while some chose to give the patrols cups of coffee, tea, boxes of candy and bouquets in a spontaneous scene that shows national cohesion and solidarity.
The feeling at the Grand Mosque in Makkah was deep, where selfies were taken with security men, with greetings and congratulations on the happy occasion of Eid, while some families shared popular dishes with them at the same table.
King Saud Medical Complex launched a greeting campaign for the security forces in separate locations in Riyadh, in recognition of their efforts.
