Daesh supporter gets 6-year jail sentence

JEDDAH: The Specialized Criminal Court (SCC) in Riyadh has sentenced a Saudi man to six years in prison and banned him from traveling abroad for a similar period.
The court charged him with preparing, storing and sending items harmful to the public order through his writings on Twitter containing takfiri descriptions to the leaders of the country.
His writings also contained support for the Daesh terrorist group, the court said. He was also accused of storing photos of the leaders of the terrorist groups in his mobile phone as well as his following up through Twitter a number of accounts supportive to the terrorist groups and hostile to the country.
Based on the above evidences, the court ordered his imprisonment for six years from the date of his arrest, his mobile phone be confiscated and banned from travel for six years from the expiry of his prison term.
