JEDDAH: Three government bodies are currently coordinating to find a suitable mechanism for the state to pay the water bills of social security beneficiaries, or the equivalent of 150 liters per capita per day.
Khalid Al-Masoud, director general of the customer service department in the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, said that coordination in implementing this decision is ongoing between his ministry, the Ministry of Social Affairs, and the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.
This coordination comes after several working sessions were held between the relevant parties to discuss detailed matters relating to the average consumption per capita of social security beneficiaries, who number 828,000 in the Kingdom. The parties also discussed the appropriate response should consumption exceed the limits assumed by the state.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has approved the payment of the water bills of social security beneficiaries by the government.
