Ericsson announced the appointment of Ali Eid as head of customer unit for Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Palestine within Ericsson Region MEA. His current position as head of customer unit for Ericsson KSA will now encompass the same responsibilities in Jordan and Palestine.
Eid began his career with Ericsson KSA in 1988 and spent 12 years there before accepting a position as a key account manager of Jawwal at Ericsson in 2000.
In 2008, he was promoted to CU head to overlook the business for the Paltel Group and Wataniya, part of the Qtel Global Customer Account. Since April 1, 2010, Eid has been the head of Ericsson, KSA.
Prior to joining Ericsson, Eid worked for Thomson CSF Telephony & Alcatel in Jordan and then joined the Electromechanical Group.
He holds a Bachelor degree in telecommunications engineering from the University of Jordan.
Rafiah Ibrahim, head of Ericsson Region MEA, says: “Today’s appointments of the new leaders will enable us to continue adding value to our customers and drive their transformation agenda.”
Eid added, “I am eager to expand successful strategies that I’ve implemented in Saudi Arabia to Jordan and Palestine and to improve upon them in the days to come. Saudi Arabia as a leading mobile communication market is normally influencing the evolution in many countries in the Middle East. Having Jordan and Palestine in the same customer unit will extend this influence to these markets. In line with Ericsson’s strides toward evolution into the Networked Society, I look forward to stimulating growth and fostering innovation wherever I can.”
