It is unfortunate to read that there are nearly 10 factories operating abroad specialized in the production of Captagon drug, which are targeting Saudi Arabia. “10 Captagon plants abroad targeting Saudi Arabia.” (Sept. 12)
These factories must be located and appropriate action be initiated against all those who are behind such criminal acts. In this regard, the Interpol may be roped in to help identify0 those criminals and locate their dens.
One solution to this scourge is that there must be a sustained campaign to educate the people mainly youth about the evils of drug, invoking Islamic teachings as well as moral obligations to one’s family and society.
This way it would kill the demand for such drug and which will in turn check its supply. The US has had the same issue with drugs. It utterly failed on its war on drugs only because it could not gather enough campaign particularly on education campuses.
May Allah protect this sacred land which houses the Two Holy Mosques!
Hats off to those officers who are vigilant in their duty and uncovering all the tactics used by the evil-mongering smugglers. It is not surprise if Saudi Arabia has become the leading country to haul up drug smugglers. — Mumshad Akhtar, New Delhi
