This is with reference to the report “Saudi Airlines to recruit more women in catering” (Oct.11).
Being the national carrier of the Kingdom, the airline should hire more Saudi women as part of Saudization drive in the government entities. Since it is not possible to reach Saudization target by employing men only, it is a good opportunity for the carrier’s catering division to recruit Saudi women to achieve its Saudization goal.
Moreover, more women are willing to work in certain sectors where they feel comfortable. I am sure they will be more productive among their own ilk.
Giving employment to 300 women will not just support them financially but it will boost their self-confidence and they can be prove to be much more productive and can contribute significantly to the well-being of their families. Therefore, let us give it a stronger push. — Abu Usman, Dammam
