This is with reference to the article “The Brexit madness” (Oct. 18) by Linda S. Heard. People who voted in favor of Brexit are now confused and claim that they had no idea about the consequences of leaving the European Union (EU). Since the announcement of the referendum, it was made clear that whatever the results might be, it would not be legally binding on the government. The question is: Is it necessary for the current government to pursue with the plans?
We live in a global village wherein all our interests are intertwined with each other. Instead of increasing cooperation at all levels, isolating one’s country from the entire neighborhood does not appear to be a very wise move.
