The Princess Nora University in Riyadh enables Saudi women to be a strong competitor in the labor market and provides all academic and non-academic support to develop their skills, said Dr. Huda Al-Ameel the Director of the university.
She explained during her meeting with media persons and writers in Central Library of the University that since years we work hard to develop the performance of the university and to set its goal to improve the quality of the output. “We have conducted one year study by the management institute to boost the administration in the university. We started this year to apply these recommendations in administration, restructuring, improvement of departments, electronic transactions between departments, recruitment of administrators,” she added.
Mentioning the academic level at the university, she said the academics have achieved a great victory by establishing health and arts colleges, restructuring the affiliated colleges, introducing new disciplines required to the labor market.
“We have made new disciplines in the college of medicine, and ensured international cooperation among the prestigious institutions,” she explained. About the latest methods of the library she said it would adopt new methods on the basis of the report of Dr. Fouzia Al-Bakr after her visit to Harvard University.
“We try our best to strengthen girl students and enable them to handle their matters as we arrange first aid courses for health students to develop their skills and give them what ever needed for the job market,” Dr. Huda Al-Ameel said.
Referring to the University faculties she said that the faculty members are standing for the mission of the university where they take part in setting of the offices, establishing university hospital and kindergarten for children. She added that the skill development programs have already been started last year and its more practices would be made by this year. She mentioned that the university is intending to begin a center for teaching and learning within a few months.
“The scientific researches would be encouraged in a wide manner and the research projects also be introduced for the better development of the university,” she said.
