JEDDAH: The national job seekers program Hafiz should make information updates a monthly instead of weekly requirement, said the National Society for Human Rights (NSHR).
The society also said it would ask for raising the age of beneficiaries to more than 35 years.
An official at NSHR, who did not want to be identified, told Al-Hayat newspaper that the society found it necessary to contact the authorities concerned after receiving many complaints about these issues, in addition to the complaints on social media.
“The society is always watches out for any concerns in the community,” said the official.
Hafiz beneficiary Ahmed Al-Aqeel said: “Hafiz requires from the beneficiary to log in every week and click on the update button. If he or she fails to log in once, then SR 200 is cut permanently from the allowance. They should cut for the month of log in failure only.”
Reem Al-As’ad, another beneficiary, said that NSHR’s move is a promising step that should be a part of group of recommendations to improve the Hafiz program to meet its expectations.
